Senator John Hoeven today announced that he will hold meetings with Veterans Affairs (VA) Under Secretary for Memorial Affairs (USMA) Matthew Quinn in North Dakota on Tuesday, November 23. Hoeven, who serves as a member of the Senate Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Committee, invited Quinn to visit the state to meet with local veterans support groups and review both the national and state veteran cemeteries in Fargo and Bismarck. The visit comes as part of the senator's efforts to ensure the nation's veterans receive the recognition, benefits and honor they have earned. Event details will be released in the coming days.

"Our state and national cemeteries allow veterans to be laid to rest with the dignity and recognition they deserve, while being closer to their homes so that families and loved ones can more easily visit and honor their memory," Hoeven said. "USMA Quinn's visit to our state will provide the opportunity for local veterans groups to give input and help ensure the federal government is a good partner as we work to ensure these facilities provide a proper resting place for our veterans."
